โ Back to Sleep Health homeThe O2 SleepWell Laboratory invites you to experience our comprehensive 2-Week CPAP Trial Programme, specifically designed for new CPAP users to discover the effectiveness and comfort of Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) therapy for Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA).
This two-week trial period is a practical opportunity to experience CPAP therapy before committing to a purchase. We guide you through every step to ensure a smooth and supportive adaptation process.
The trial requires the purchase of a new mask for hygiene reasons, allowing you to choose the mask that best suits your needs and preferences.
The program begins with a sleep technologist consultation, which typically includes a dedicated mask fitting session.
A sleep technologist (or certified CPAP therapist/clinical application specialist) will perform the mask fitting. Sleep technologists are skilled in performing routine positive airway pressure (PAP) interface fitting and desensitization.
A proper mask fitting is crucial for both comfort and compliance, significantly increasing the success rate in adapting to CPAP therapy. During the session, you can try out different masks (e.g., full face masks, nasal masks, nasal pillow masks) to select the optimal fit.
The trial incorporates telemonitoring (or remote monitoring) services.
A clinical application specialist or health coach will monitor your sleep using advanced CPAP software. This monitoring functionality, often present in CPAP devices, allows for early intervention if you face any discomfort.
The professional team provides tailored support and follow-up advice and education throughout the trial to enhance your sleep health journey.
At the conclusion of the 2-week trial, a Therapy Review session is conducted.
During this session, detailed data of your CPAP trial period, including usage and compliance reports, will be downloaded and reviewed in person.
The review assesses key areas such as effectiveness (e.g., symptom relief and AHI reduction), usage (compliance), and any side effects (e.g., dry mouth or mask leaks).
Our expert staff provides troubleshooting and support for any issues encountered during the trial. Based on the data review and patient feedback, adjustments to pressure or the mask may be made as needed. Support is available for common challenges like a leaky mask, difficulty tolerating forced air, or dry/stuffy nose.
By participating in the O2 SleepWell CPAP Trial Programme, you can experience firsthand how CPAP therapy can lead to better sleep, improved daytime alertness, increased concentration, and protection against serious health risks like heart disease and stroke.
